The Ministry for State Development and Transport of the State of Saxony-Anhalt (MLV) is a State Ministry of Saxony-Anhalt . Minister is Thomas Webel .

The ministry is located at Turmschanzenstrasse 30 in the area of ​​the former Angerkaserne in Magdeburg .

history

After the Second World War, there were initially no ministries. In the "Provincial Administration of Saxony" formed in 1945, a vice-president was responsible for traffic. In 1946 a Ministry for Economics and Transport was founded, which was initially split up in 1949. In 1950 they were merged again to form the Ministry of Economy, Industry, Construction and Labor , which existed until the state was dissolved in 1952.

The current ministry was founded in 1991 as the Ministry for Spatial Planning, Urban Development and Housing from a department of the Interior Ministry (urban development and housing) and the departments for spatial planning and regional planning located in the State Chancellery. In 1994 the “Transport” division was added from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the “Spatial Planning” division was transferred to the Environment Ministry , since then the authority has been called the Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Transport . In 2002 the name was changed to the Ministry of Construction and Transport , and since 2011 the ministry has had its current name.
