The Ministry of Energy, Infrastructure and Digitization of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (short form: MEID MV ), based in Schwerin, is one of eight ministries of the state administration. The current incumbent is Christian Ebene ( SPD ), he is supported by Ina-Maria Ulbrich as State Secretary .
history
After the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania was founded in 1945, there were initially no traditional ministries, but departments subordinate to the president or vice-president. There was also a separate department for transport, from which no separate ministry emerged when the ministries were formed.
The Ministry for Construction, Regional Development and Environment , founded in 1994, can be seen as the predecessor of this ministry . This was transformed into the Ministry of Labor and Building in 1998 and the Ministry of Labor, Building and Regional Development in 2002 . The Ministry of Transport, Building and Regional Development was created from this in 2006 . In 2011, the ministry handed over the “Construction” area to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and received the new “Energy” area. It has had its current name ever since.
The Ministry has been located in Collegiate Building II right next to the Schwerin State Chancellery at the address Schloßstraße (Schwerin) 6–8 since 1990 .

In addition to creating and maintaining the transport and port infrastructure, the Ministry's area of responsibility also includes the development of the energy supply . It is also responsible for regulating freight traffic , aviation and mining, as well as for state and regional development .

The ministry is divided into five departments:

- Department 3: Energy and Regional Development
- Department 4: Construction
- Department 5: Digitization in business and administration, broadband expansion
The departments are in turn divided into sections - as the smallest organizational unit.

Furthermore, the ministry is the highest aviation authority of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the context of order management .
