The Hessian Ministry for Science and Art is the university and culture ministry of the State of Hesse . State Minister Angela Dorn ( Alliance 90 / The Greens ) heads the house as a member of the Hessian state government .

history

The Ministry was spun off from the Hessian Ministry of Education on July 4, 1984 . The Ministry of Culture then remained responsible for school and part of the church affairs.

Since 1987, the Hessian Ministry of Science and Art has been housed in a rented, Wilhelminian -style, neo-baroque office building between Rheinstrasse and Luisenstrasse in Wiesbaden , which served as the Wiesbaden main post office from 1905 to 1975 and was then converted and renovated accordingly.
