Angela Dorn-Rancke
Angela Dorn-Rancke (née Dorn ; born June 2, 1982 in Aschaffenburg ) is a German politician at Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen . She has been the Hessian State Minister for Science and Art in the cabinet of Volker Bouffier , a black-green coalition , since January 18, 2019 . In addition, she was state chairman of the Hessian Greens from November 19, 2017 to May 11, 2019 . Dorn has been a member of the Hessian state parliament since January 18, 2009 and was the top candidate of her party for the state elections in Hesse in 2013 .
Life and work
Angela Dorn attended the Maria Ward School in her Bavarian hometown of Aschaffenburg and graduated from high school in Hesse in 2001. After studying psychology at the Philipps University in Marburg , she worked as a psychologist at the Clinic for Forensic Psychiatry in Haina . She is married and has three children.
Political party
From 2007 to 2008, Dorn was the women's political spokesperson for the Green Youth Hesse (GJH). From May 2008 to April 2010 she was chairwoman of the GJH and from 2008 to 2009 GJH delegate to the state board of the Green Hesse. At the same time, Dorn was a member of the city council of the Marburg Greens from 2007 to 2009 and was a member of the district council of the Greens in the Marburg-Biedenkopf district from February 2010 . From November 19, 2017 to May 11, 2019, Dorn was chairman of the Hessian Greens alongside Kai Klose .
MPs
After being elected to the Hessian state parliament on January 18, 2009 , she moved in as the youngest member of parliament at the time , reaching 13th place on the state list of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen . Until May 2012, she was initially the spokesperson for consumer and resource protection as well as the interests of the students of the Green Parliamentary Group and was a member of the Committee on Environment, Energy, Agriculture and Consumer Protection and the Committee on Science and Art. From June 2012 until the end of the 19th electoral term, Dorn was a member of the parliament's committee for the environment, energy, agriculture and consumer protection as spokesperson for the environment, energy and climate protection of the Green parliamentary group. From January 18, 2014 to December 31, 2017, she was also the parliamentary director of her group, but resigned from this office after her election as state chair. As parliamentary manager, Dorn was also a member of the council of elders. Dorn is regionally responsible for the Marburg-Biedenkopf district . In addition, Dorn was a city councilor in the university town of Marburg from April 2006 to the end of March 2019 .
In the state elections in Hesse in 2013 , she ran in the constituency of Marburg-Biedenkopf II , in which she received 13.9 percent of the second vote . It did not come through a direct client , but moved into the state parliament again at number 1 of its party via the state list.
In the state elections in Hesse in 2018 , she also ran in the constituency of Marburg-Biedenkopf II and received 21.1 percent of the second vote . Here, too, she did not move into the state parliament via the direct mandate , but via number 3 on the state list of her party.
After the state election in Hesse in 2018 , Dorn was appointed Minister of State for Science and Art in the new Bouffier III cabinet on January 18, 2019 .
