Claudia Bogedan (born April 7, 1975 in Limburg an der Lahn ) is a German social scientist and politician ( SPD ). She has been Senator for Children and Education in the Senate of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen since 2015 .

Life

Family, education and work

Bogedan studied social sciences from 1994 to 2001 at the University of Marburg , the Humboldt University in Berlin and the University of Aarhus . It was in 2009 at the University of Bremen Dr. rer. pole. PhD .

From 2001 to 2003 she was the managing director of the Political Educational Work Association for the Promotion of Political Action eV (vfh) in Bonn . From 2003 to 2007 she was a research assistant at the University of Bremen. Since 2007 she has been a consultant at the Economic and Social Science Institute (WSI) in Bonn of the Hans Böckler Foundation in Düsseldorf on questions of labor market and social policy; From 2011 to 2015 she was the head of the research funding department and the department for employment in transition .

Bogedan is married and has two children.

Bogedan is a member of the SPD. From 2002 to 2005 she worked in various functions in the SPD sub-district of Bonn and from 2005 to 2007 she was Deputy Federal Chairwoman of the Jusos . From 2009 to 2015 she was chairwoman of the Working Group of Social Democratic Women (ARSP) in Bonn and from 2010 to 2015 a member of the state board of the SPD in North Rhine-Westphalia .

In July 2015, Claudia Bogedan was elected as successor to Eva Quante-Brandt (SPD) Senator for Children and Education under Mayor Carsten Sieling (SPD) in the Sieling Senate. The responsibility for children with the daycare facilities was assigned to the education sector from the social senator Anja Stahmann (Greens). State Councilor Frank Pietrzok (SPD) took on their representation .

In 2016 she was elected President of the Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs (KMK). Her presidency focused on education in the immigrant society and education in the digital world.

In 2019 she was able to move into the Bremen citizenship as a member of parliament .
