Olaf Joachim

Olaf Joachim (* 1965 in Bonn ) is a German political official ( SPD ). Since 2011 he has been a Councilor of State in the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen . In the course of the formation of the new Senate in August 2019, he was appointed representative of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen to the federal government and member of the Senate of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen .

education and profession

Olaf Joachim studied biology and became a Doctor of Science (Dr. rer nat..) PhD . From 2003 he worked in the state service of the State of Bremen: until 2005 as a consultant for fundamental matters at the Senator for Building, Environment and Transport , from 2005 to 2007 as head of division for task planning and departmental coordination in the Bremen Senate Chancellery and from 2007 to 2011 as department head for planning and coordination matters. During this function, Joachim also acted as deputy head of the Senate Chancellery Hubert Schulte .

Public offices

On September 1, 2011, Olaf Joachim became State Councilor and Head of the Bremen Senate Chancellery ( CdS ) from Senate President Jens Böhrnsen, and on August 15, 2019, Senate President Andreas Bovenschulte became State Councilor for federal affairs, media affairs, development cooperation and international affairs and authorized representative of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen appointed by the federal government. The Bremen citizenship elected Joachim as a member of the Senate on the same day.
