Karl-Heinz Reck

Karl-Heinz Reck (born February 14, 1949 in Magdeburg ) is a German politician. From 1990 to 2006 he was a member of the State Parliament of Saxony-Anhalt and from 1994 to 1998 Minister of Culture of Saxony-Anhalt .

Life and work

After graduating from the Polytechnic High School in 1965, Karl-Heinz Reck began vocational training with a high school diploma to become an agricultural machinery tractor fitter. He then studied from 1968 to 1972 at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg as a graduate teacher for mathematics and physics . After his studies he worked as a teacher for mathematics and physics in Salzwedel , where he still lives today, until he moved into the state parliament .

Reck is married and has three children.

Political career

Reck was a member of the SPD from 1990 to 2008.

Reck represented the Salzwedel constituency in the state parliament. He was last elected via the state list and did not run again in 2006. He was a member of the Committee on Education and Science and the Committee on Culture and the Media. Reck has been a member of the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel district council since 1990 .

Karl-Heinz Reck was Minister of Culture in Reinhard Höppner's cabinet from 1994 to 1998. He is an official supporter of the Freedom Instead of Fear demonstration .
