Manfred Erhardt

Manfred Erhardt (born March 21, 1939 in Stuttgart ) is a scientist and former CDU politician .

education and profession

From 1959 to 1964 Manfred Erhardt studied law at the University of Tübingen and at the Free University of Berlin . He then worked as a research assistant at the University of Tübingen, followed by the second state examination in law and the doctorate to become a Dr. iur. From 1969 to 1971 he was a university advisor in the Federal Ministry of Education and Science. This was followed by a time as a consultant for the University of Tübingen and for matters of university law in the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Culture .

From 1974 to 1978 Erhardt was head of the department for vocational academies and legal affairs at vocational schools , and from 1978 to 1982 he was head of the central budget and personnel department in the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science and Art . Since 1981 he has been a lecturer in public law and since 1988 honorary professor at the University of Tübingen.

Political activity

From 1982 to 1984 he was the managing director of the CDU parliamentary group in the Baden-Württemberg state parliament for two years . From 1984 to 1991 he was Ministerial Director and Head of the Ministry for Science and Art Baden-Württemberg.

On January 24, 1991 he was brought to Berlin as Senator for Science and Research, and in this function he was also President of the Conference of Ministers of Education . Manfred Erhardt held this office until 1996 and then became Secretary General of the Donors' Association for German Science in Essen until 2004 .

Erhardt was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Schering Foundation (Berlin) and a partner in the Dieter Schwarz Foundation (Neckarsulm).
