Barbara Riedmüller-Seel

Barbara Riedmüller-Seel , née Riedmüller (born September 5, 1945 in Mittenwald ), is a German social scientist and former politician.

After completing her studies in sociology at the University of Munich in 1973, she received her doctorate in 1976. phil. Since then she has been married to Peter C. Seel.

Until 1982 she worked in planning in the field of health / social affairs for the state capital of Munich. In 1982 he completed his habilitation in political science at the Free University of Berlin . From 1983 to 1986 she was a professor at the Department of Education at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich , after which she was a visiting professor at the Faculty of Sociology at Bielefeld University until 1987 . In March 1988 she took over a chair in the Department of Political Science at the Free University of Berlin. From 1988 to March 1989 she was Vice President of the Free University of Berlin.

After Walter Momper's election victory on January 29, 1989, she was appointed Senator for Science and Research of the State of Berlin in March 1989 .

After leaving this office in January 1991, she was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives until 1996 .

Since then she has been working scientifically again.
