Reiner Schomburg

Reiner Schomburg (born July 14, 1953 in Hasselfelde ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 1993 to 1994 he was Minister of Education in Saxony-Anhalt .

Life and work

After attending the polytechnic high school (POS) from 1960 to 1968 in Hasselfelde (Harz), Schomburg graduated from EOS in Blankenburg (Harz) in 1972 . He completed a degree in mathematics at the TH Magdeburg (1974–1979). From 1979 to 1988 he worked as a system programmer in the data processing center in Magdeburg, Halberstadt . He then worked from 1988 to 1990 as IT organizer at the state-owned Gut Hasselfelde.

Reiner Schomburg is Catholic, married and has two daughters.

Political party

Schomburg has been a member of the CDU since March 1990. From 1992 to 2003 he was chairman of the CDU district association Wernigerode and from 2003 to 2007 deputy district executive. He was also a member of the Hasselfelde city council from 1990 to 1994 and a member of the Wernigerode district council from 1994 to 2007 . Since 2007 he has been a member of the district council of the Harz district .

MP

From the 1st up to and including the 4th electoral term, Schomburg was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt . There he was deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group, member of the committee for education and science, member of the committee for culture and media and member of the special committee according to § 46a AbgG LSA to review the members of the state parliament.

Honors

In 2006 Schomburg was honored with the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon, in 2018 with the Order of Merit of the State of Saxony-Anhalt .
