Werner Sobetzko
Werner Sobetzko (born February 11, 1939 in Hindenburg , Upper Silesia ) is a German chemist and politician ( CDU ).
Life and work
After the Second World War , Sobetzko and his family moved to Rügen as a displaced person in 1946 and moved from there to Rieder . After attending the primary school there and graduating from high school in Quedlinburg in 1958 , he completed an apprenticeship as a chemical laboratory assistant at the Leunawerke until 1960 . He then began studying chemistry at the Technical University of Leuna-Merseburg , which he completed in 1965 with the examination to become a qualified chemist. He worked in fire extinguishing agent research in Neuruppin in 1966/67 and from 1967 to 1990 in the field of research into the production of semi-finished plastic products at VEB Orbitaplast in Weißandt-Gölzau . In 1978 he had an external Dr.-Ing. PhD.
Political party
Sobetzko joined the Eastern CDU in 1968 , which became part of the CDU in 1990 . From 1990 to 1992 he was chairman of the CDU district association in Köthen and from 1990 to 2000 a member of the state board of the CDU Saxony-Anhalt .
MP
Sobetzko was from March 18 to October 2, 1990 member of the first freely elected GDR - People's Chamber , where Chairman of the Committee on Research, Technology and successor assessment. From 1990 to 2006 he was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .
Public offices
On October 28, 1990, Sobetzko was appointed Minister for Education, Science and Culture to the government of the State of Saxony-Anhalt led by Prime Minister Gerd Gies and, as Minister for Schools, Adult Education and Culture, also belonged to Minister President Werner since July 4, 1991 Münch led the subsequent government. On December 2, 1993, he resigned from the state government.
