Münch cabinet

The Cabinet Munch made from 1991 to 1993, the second state government of Saxony-Anhalt . After the resignation of the government of the previous Prime Minister Gerd Gies ( CDU ), the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt elected the Minister of Finance Werner Münch (CDU) as the new head of government on July 4, 1991 . He received 61 out of 98 valid votes; his rival candidate Reinhard Hoeppner , chairman of the SPD - parliamentary group , received 29 votes; Eight MPs were practicing abstention . After he was sworn in , Münch first presented a rump cabinet to the state parliament with six ministers who had also belonged to the first state government. The ministries of Education , Finance and the Interior were first business leader by the prime minister and the ministers Walter Remmers and Werner Schreiber perceived.

On July 11, 1991, the Landtag confirmed five new ministers in accordance with Section 2 of the Act on the Provisional Regulations of Government in the State of Saxony-Anhalt . In the course of this, the previous "Ministry of Education, Science and Culture" was divided into a "Ministry of School, Adult Education and Culture" and a "Ministry of Science and Research". On November 28, 1993, Prime Minister Werner Münch finally resigned from office after public pressure had increased in the wake of the " salaries affair " - allegations of illegal allowances being received by members of the government from West Germany . According to Article 71 paragraph 1 of the constitution of the State of Saxony-Anhalt , which has since been adopted, the ministers' term of office also ended. On December 2, 1993, the state parliament elected the previous CDU parliamentary group chairman, Christoph Bergner, as the new Prime Minister. The other members of the government - with the exception of the "Federal Minister" Hans-Jürgen Kaesler (FDP), who was immediately dismissed by Bergner - remained in office until the successor government took office on December 15, 1993.
