Bringfriede Kahrs (born July 5, 1943 in Bremen ) is a German educator and politician ( SPD ).

Life

Kahrs graduated from high school in 1963. In the same year she joined the SPD. She graduated from the University of Education in Bremen in 1975 and taught at a secondary level I center from 1976 to 1987 . At the same time, she studied at the University of Bremen until 1979, including the extension test for the first state examination for upper secondary level . In 1982 she took over the chairmanship of a local SPD association in Bremen. In 1987 she was elected to the Bremen citizenship . From 1995 to 1999 she was a member of the Senate of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen and succeeded Henning ScherfSenator for Education, Science, Art and Sport ( Willi Lemke succeeded her in 1999 ). She was a co-opted member of the Presidium of the Conference of Ministers of Education . From July 1999 to February 2001 she was again a member of parliament.

She was married to the politician Wolfgang Kahrs . The son Johannes Kahrs, born in 1963, and two other children come from this marriage . Bringfriede Kahrs now lives in Hamburg and is a board member of the SPD Hamburg-Innenstadt, a long-time member of the district assembly Hamburg-Mitte with a seat on the building committee.
