The Ramal de Aljustrel is a railway line in southern Portugal and connects the Castro Verde - Almodôvar train station in Carregueiro on the Linha do Alentejo with the Aljustrel mine . With a total length of 11.6 km, this rail connection is only used for freight traffic.
Lundin Mining Corporation has owned the Aljustrel mine since 2004. In response to the rapid fall in zinc prices on the world market, zinc production was discontinued again in November 2008, although the mine only started operations again in May 2008 with EU subsidies.
