Evelin Schönhut-Keil (born April 25, 1960 in Homberg (Efze) ) is a Hessian politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ), former First Alderman of the State Welfare Association of Hesse and former member of the Hessian State Parliament .

education and profession

After training as an administrative clerk (1977–1979), Schönhut-Keil worked as an administrative clerk in the social welfare office until 1981 , from 1982–1986 as deputy administrative manager of a training workshop for former drug addicts and from 1986–1988 as administrative manager at a research institute for AIDS and cancer research.

politics

Schönhut-Keil is one of the founding members of the Greens and has worked in the field of social policy from the start . Together with her first husband, Rolf Keil, she founded the Green District Association in the Main-Taunus District and the local association in Eppstein .

In the internal disputes between Fundis and Realos , Schönhut-Keil joined the moderate wing around Joschka Fischer , without, however, getting involved in sharper, public controversies. Joschka Fischer then ran for the first time for the German Bundestag through the constituency Main-Taunus.

As a convinced realpolitician from the "first hour", she was represented in the party's federal main committee and in the federal finance council since the mid-1980s. Irregularities in the financing of the so-called Haus Wittgenstein (first party seat in Bonn -Troisdorf) were uncovered and, in a long series of internal disputes, led to the resignation of the then federal executive committee. Her work as state treasurer and member of the executive board of the Green Hesse paved the way for her to join the Hessian state parliament.

In 1991 she was first elected to the Hessian state parliament via the state list . There she was Vice President of the Hessian State Parliament between 1991 and 1995 and between 2003 and 2005 and Deputy Chairwoman of the State Parliament Enquete Commission on Family -Friendly Hesse from 1997 to 1998 . Schönhut-Keil was responsible for reforming integration assistance for people with disabilities in Hesse. She advocated a person-centered approach to individual assistance planning for this group of people and the expansion of outpatient assistance.

She was a member of the board of the Bad Vilbel vocational advancement organization .

Schönhut-Keil is a member of the Presidium of the International Federation (IB), Vice President of the Support Group for Self-Help in Taunus e. V. (SiT) based in Hattersheim and member of the board of trustees of the state foundation for cooperation in Hessen .
