The Landesstiftung Mithaben-in-Hessen is a foundation under public law with legal capacity, based in Wiesbaden, with the aim of promoting private initiative and civic engagement in the state of Hesse. It was founded on November 28, 2011 on the initiative of the Hessian Prime Minister , Volker Bouffier , of the State of Hesse .

As a founder, the state of Hesse establishes an institution with the state foundation “Mit einer Mithaben in Hessen”, an institution that takes up and strengthens its citizens' commitment to their social environment in its decisions, regardless of state structures.

The state foundation “Together in Hessen” pursues the goal of promoting private initiative and civic engagement in the state of Hessen. It wants to strengthen the individual's sense of responsibility for the common good, improve the cohesion of society and in this way make a contribution to the future viability of the state of Hesse in the face of far-reaching social changes.

The Landesstiftung "Mit einer in Hessen" takes up what many people in Hessen are doing in an exemplary manner in various forms of civic engagement and want to give new impulses. At the same time, it promotes the creativity and ingenuity of the people in Hesse as well as their willingness to take on responsibility in our free, democratic society.

The Landesstiftung “Mit einer Mitnahm in Hessen” supports initiatives and projects that serve to establish and develop private and voluntary solutions for future tasks and that complement state action in a meaningful way. It also sees itself as a cooperation partner for institutions, community foundations, foundations, associations, clubs and private initiatives and promotes the exchange of experiences and the formation of appropriate networks. The foundation also carries out its own measures that are exemplary aimed at the common good and future viability in Hessen.

The Landesstiftung “Mit einem Einflug” is looking for partners for its funding purposes and aims to increase the foundation's capital through endowments. She wants to encourage people to show initiative for the common good and to work towards practicable solutions for a humane society in Hessen.

Foundation purpose

The purpose of the state foundation “Together in Hessen” is to promote civic engagement and private initiative in favor of charitable, benevolent and church purposes within the meaning of the section “Tax-privileged purposes” of the tax code. It thus contributes to the strengthening of public spirit and social coexistence in Hesse.

The Landesstiftung “Together in Hessen” realizes its purpose in particular through

  1. Promotion of civic engagement by supporting community foundations and other private initiatives that pursue the purpose mentioned in paragraph 1 in whole or in part,
  2. Cooperation with the organizations and initiatives mentioned under No. 1 in order to realize joint plans and projects,
  3. own measures, which in the sense of the purpose named in paragraph 1 are exemplarily designed for the common good and future viability,
  4. Promotion of cooperation and exchange between organizations and initiatives that also pursue the purpose mentioned in Paragraph 1 in whole or in part,
  5. Promotion of the exchange of views and the formation of opinions through suitable measures with the aim of anchoring the purpose mentioned in paragraph 1 in the population.
