Arnim Lühken (2018)

Arnim Lühken (* 1974 ) is a German chemistry teacher and university lecturer . His main research interests are student laboratories and teaching-learning laboratories in teacher training, adaptive learning environments and subject-specific talent development, experimental chemistry in schools and learning locations outside of school.

Life

Lühken studied in Frankfurt chemistry and biology for the teacher at school and put 1999 his first state exam from. In 2002 he did his doctorate with Hans Joachim Bader at the Institute for Didactics of Chemistry. The topic of his dissertation was "Ultrasound and microwave radiation in chemistry classes". In 2004 he passed his 2nd state examination. From 2005 to 2008 he was a postdoctoral fellow with Ilka Parchmann at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg .

In 2008 he was appointed W1 Professor for Chemistry Didactics at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main , and in 2011 he was appointed W2 Professor for Chemistry Didactics. Furthermore, in 2011 he became Managing Director of the Institute for Didactics of Chemistry, Head of the Chemistry Teacher Training Center in Frankfurt am Main and Head of the Goethe Student Laboratory for Chemistry and Physics. Since 2014 he has been the Dean of Studies for the Department of Biochemistry, Chemistry and Pharmacy at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main.

Since 2018 he has been one of three editors-in-chief of Chemkon magazine .

In 2000 he received the Manfred and Wolfgang Flad Prize.
