Jürg W. Leipziger

Jürg W. Leipziger (born July 4, 1943 in Glarus , Switzerland ) is a Swiss entrepreneur and PR consultant.

Life

After studying business administration in Zurich and working for three years at the advertising agency Young & Rubicam in Frankfurt am Main and New York City , Leipziger founded Leipziger & Partner Communication GmbH in Frankfurt am Main in 1970, one of the first PR agencies in Germany. Today he is also a partner in other companies in the communications and media industry, including publishers and film productions.

Leipziger is a lecturer and lecturer at various academies. In 1995 he was appointed honorary professor at Günter Bentele's chair for public relations and PR at the University of Leipzig (now retired). There he founded u. a. the student PR agency LiSA GmbH (Leipzig Initiative Student Agency) and is a member of the board of trustees of the Leipzig Public Relations Student eV (LPRS).

In addition to his entrepreneurial and teaching activities, Leipziger u. a. Co-founder and President of the German Academy for Public Relations and Honorary President of the Society for Public Relations Agencies (GPRA). In addition, Leipzig was the head of the Public Relations course at the Bavarian Academy for Advertising and Marketing . Since 2003 he has been chairman of the board of the lobby organization CityForum ProFrankfurt eV with 205 members.

In 2003 Leipziger was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon by the then Federal President Johannes Rau . He is the author of numerous articles and a specialist book on public relations .

Leipziger is widowed and has three daughters. He lives in Frankfurt am Main. His wife died on September 9, 2017.
