Tschammer Cup 1943
The Tschammer Cup in 1943 was the ninth and last competition under this name for the German football cup.
Because of the expanding Second World War with bombed sports facilities and fallen athletes, the Football Department was forced to change the mode for the Tschammerpokal in 1943 again, as in the previous year. First, it was decided to have a cup winner determined in the 32 sports districts. Then it should be decided whether the competition should be continued throughout Germany. The decision was made in the summer of 1943 in favor of continuing the cup games until the final of the German soccer cup of 1943.
After the Gau Cup winners had been determined - in the meantime there were even 34 due to further division of areas - the competition continued with a qualifying game (the other was canceled) and the first final round, which was followed by the eighth, quarter and semi-finals. The finals were played by First Vienna FC and LSV Hamburg ; First Vienna FC won 3-2 after extra time in Stuttgart .
