DFB Cup 1969/70

DFB Cup winner 1970 was Kickers Offenbach . With the Offenbacher Kickers, a second division cup winner was the first time in 1970. Kickers Offenbach also rose from the Regionalliga to the Bundesliga in the same year. Since the 1970 World Cup in Mexico began on May 31, the DFB decided tohost the DFB Cup from the round of 16 during the summer break after the World Cup tournament. Offenbach was actually already a Bundesliga club at this point. Although the competition was still assigned to the 1969/70 season, the clubs played with the new season's squad from the round of 16.

The player Winfried Schäfer was German champion with Borussia Mönchengladbach in May 1970 and cup winner in one season with his new club Kickers Offenbach in August.

In the European Cup Winners' Cup, Offenbach was eliminated in the first round against Club Brugge .
