DFB Cup 1963/64

The 1964 DFB Cup winner was TSV 1860 Munich for the second time, and the next year they became the first German team to reach the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup . With the introduction of the Bundesliga in the 1963/1964 season, the DFB Cup also had its fixed date. From now on, the final was held at the end of the season (exception: EM or World Cup season). That year the final took place on June 13, 1964 in Stuttgart. The old cup trophy, which was knownas the Tschammer Cup during the Nazi regime, wasawarded for the last time. Defending champion Hamburger SV retired after a replay in the first round against the regional league team SpVgg Fürth .
