Rudolf Zeiser (born March 31, 1936 in Dorfen, † February 4, 1993 ) was a German football player .

career

Amateur and Oberliga, until 1963

Rudolf Zeiser experienced his youth and the beginning of his senior years at TSV Buchbach and TV Altötting in Upper Bavaria until 1958. At the age of 22, “Foxes” Zeiser moved to the state capital to join the “blues” from TSV 1860 Munich . But he played in the amateur team of the "Löwen" and not in their contract players in the football Oberliga Süd. After two years he signed a contract with Hertha BSC and moved to the Berlin City League . Under coach Johannes Sobeck , Zeiser made his debut in the city league immediately on the first match day of the 1960/61 round. In the 1-0 success at Hertha Zehlendorf on August 21, 1960, he stormed in the center forward position, surrounded by the attackers Peter Engler , Lutz Steinert , Helmut Faeder and Lothar Groß . Zeiser played 13 games and scored six goals in the championship of Hertha BSC, which won the Berlin championship six points ahead of Tasmania 1900 . In the final round of the German soccer championship, the man from Upper Bavaria played all six games with Hertha, but now in his home position as the right wing runner. In terms of sport, the 4: 3 away win on June 3, 1961 at 1. FC Köln stood out when the Berliners attacked the billy goats with Karl-Heinz Thielen , Hans Schäfer , Christian Müller , Karl-Heinz Ripkens and Ernst-Günter Habig in check. The final 3: 3 draw on June 18 at 1. FC Nürnberg - the Franconians won the championship on June 24 with a 3: 0 against Dortmund - was a respectable success for Zeiser and his Hertha colleagues. In his second year in Berlin, 1961/62, the stamina midfielder played all 27 games in the city league and again scored six goals. This time Tasmania turned the tables in 1900 and relegated Hertha to second place. Zeiser played his last city league game on March 31, 1962 in a 10-1 win against SC Union 06 Berlin . Together with Günter Schüler and Hans-Joachim Altendorff , he formed the runner row. In September 1961, "Fox" Zeiser sniffed European "football air" in the Berlin city selection in the trade fair cup in the two games against FC Barcelona. After two years in Berlin - 40 City League games and 12 goals - he was from 1860 Munich last season, the Oberliga Süd , retrieved 1962-63.

In this round, the "Lions" were looking to win the championship. Only then could the team of coach Max Merkel be nominated for the new Bundesliga from the 1963/64 season. In fact, they won the title three points ahead of 1. FC Nürnberg. The returnee from Berlin completed 25 games and mostly formed the runner row with Alfons Stemmer and Günther Rahm . In the finals, Zeiser and colleagues scored six points against Dortmund, Neunkirchen and Hamburg, but also lost three in the away games. The last southern champion was accepted into the Bundesliga and a new chapter began in the life of Zeiser and top German football.

Bundesliga, 1963 to 1970

1860 Munich started in the Bundesliga with Rudolf Zeiser on August 24, 1963. The "Lions" parted with a 1-1 home draw in the Grünwalder Stadium from Eintracht Braunschweig. With the home record of 49:16 goals, the team came to 22: 8 points and thus confirmed the predictions that coach Merkel's team could be expected. However, the Munich team lost a place in the top group with a negative point balance of 9:21 points in the away games of the round and thus finished seventh at the end of the round. Zeiser and colleagues celebrated outstanding victories in the clear home successes against Nuremberg (5: 0), Dortmund (6: 1), Schalke 04 and Saarbrücken (7: 1 each) and the 9: 2 on March 7, 1964 against Hamburger SV. Zeiser completed 24 league games in the debut round of the Bundesliga.

The DFB Cup was held from April to June 1964. The right wing runner of the "Löwen" was only absent due to an injury in the semi-final game at FC Altona 93 . In the final on June 13, 1964 in Stuttgart against Eintracht Frankfurt , he was a member of the 60 team, which won 2-0. In the final, the runner-up from the sixties is an outstanding part of the team. Zeiser is unstoppable, shows combative and playful "international format".

In the second Bundesliga season 1964/65 came in fourth place in 1860 and Zeiser had completed 26 games. Again, the weaker away record prevented - home points: 24-6; Away points: 11-19 - an even better result. The sporting highlight, however, took place in the European Cup Winners' Cup . "Fox" was used in all six games against Union Sportive Luxembourg, FC Porto and Legia Warsaw and then suffered an injury in the Bundesliga game on April 30, 1965, which he suffered in the semi-finals against AC Turin and the final on 19 April 1965 Sentenced to the role of spectator against West Ham United in London May 1965.

In the third year of the Bundesliga, 1965/66 , Munich won the German championship in 1860 . Coach Merkel was able to improve the class of his team again with the additions Timo Konietzka and Željko Perušić . Zeiser came on twelve missions, mostly in away games when Merkel wanted to strengthen the defensive. In the following year, "Fuchse" Zeiser was back with 29 missions and four goals. It was a year of turbulence and a change of coach. Zeiser was on the pitch in both matches in the European Champions' Cup in November 1966 against Real Madrid , including the 3-1 defeat in Madrid, which meant that the German champions had to be eliminated from the competition. The team of coach Miguel Muñoz prevailed with the experts Pirri , Ignacio Zoco , Amancio , Ramón Grosso , Manuel Velázquez and Francisco Gento in the second leg on November 30, 1966 against the "Lions" and Max Merkel finished after the 2-1 success on December 10, 1966 against Werder Bremen his activity at 1860 Munich. Zeiser stood out in the 89th minute as the winning goal scorer in the last game of the Viennese.

In the next three rounds, 1860 was no longer in the top group. At the age of 34, Zeiser completed his last Bundesliga game on April 30, 1970 in a 2-1 defeat at MSV Duisburg and in 1860 Munich was relegated from the Bundesliga. Before the round, for financial reasons, the club had let the players Patzke, Schütz, Grosser, Reich, Rebele, Heiß and Kohlars go or stop and failed because of this bloodletting. Everyone involved knew it was going to be a tricky season. Shaken by management crises and financially whistling from the last hole, almost an entire football team was sold before the start of the season. 16th place was the meek goal of the season - but it couldn't be achieved with this troop.

From 1963 to 1970 Zeiser played a total of 167 games for the “Löwen” and scored nine goals in the Bundesliga. From round 1970/71 he let his playing career at SV Daglfing end in the amateur camp.
