Personalities

Jean-Baptiste Reboul (1862–1926), French chef, was born in La Roquebrussanne. He is the author of the cookbook The Provençal Cook ( La cuisinière Provençale ) published in 1897 . The cookbook includes 1,120 simple and complete recipes and 365 menus for every day of the year. Frédéric Mistral asked Reboul to add the Provencal names of the dishes to the recipes , since the sixth edition these have been part of the work. The cookbook is still in demand today and is always being reprinted.
