Cabasse is a French commune in the department of Var in the region Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Brignoles and the canton of Le Luc .
geography
The place with 1947 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) is located in the Provence countryside and is located in the valley of the Issole river on the A8 autoroute between Cannes and Aix-en-Provence .
history
Cabasse already existed under the name Matavo in Gallo-Roman times at the viaduct of the Via Aurelia over the Issole. Numerous documents from this period, including a necropolis and a mausoleum , have been found here.
