Barjols

Barjols (in Provence : Barjou ) is a French commune in the department of Var in the region Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur . The place has 2979 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) on an area of ​​30.06 km². Barjols belongs to the canton of Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume .

The name "Barjols" has its roots in Old French: "Barre" means hill and "Jouls" pretty , from which "Barjoulx" and finally the current name arose.
