Aiguines ( Occitan : Eiguino , Provence : Aiguina ) is a French village with 276 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Var in the region Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur . Their inhabitants are called Aiguinois or Aiguinoises .

geography

Aiguines is located in the Préalpes de Castellane , part of the Provencal Prealps , about 40 km east of Manosque and just as far northwest of Draguignan . To the west and northwest of the municipality is the Lac de Sainte-Croix reservoir , while the Verdon Gorge is to the northeast . The south-east of the municipality is part of the Plan de Canjuers plateau and is largely part of the Camp militaire de Canjuers military training area - more than half of the area of ​​the municipality .
