Châteauvert ( Provence Castèuverd or Castel-Verd ) is a French municipality with 145 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Var department in the region of Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur .

geography

The few houses in the small community of Châteauvert are located in the middle of a small valley through which the Argens flows, around the Transfiguration Church, the local parish church.

history

Châteauvert was first mentioned in 1002 "De castello qui dicitur Verus" , then in 1235 there is talk of the Castrum Viridum , which belonged to the rule of the Bishops of Marseille.
