The Issole is a river in the Var department in the south of France . The source of the Issole is located in the municipality of Mazaugues , west of La Roquebrussanne . The river runs generally eastward through an initially wide, soon narrower plain until it turns northeast at Besse-sur-Issole . To the north of Cabasse it finally flows into the Caramy , which is dammed here to form Lac de Carcès .
