Gottfried Groebel (life dates unknown) was an Austrian football player .

Career

Groebel belonged to First Vienna FC , for whom he was a midfielder from 1942 to 1944 in the Danube-Alpenland sports class , in one of 17, later increased to 23 Gauligen at the time of National Socialism as the uniformly highest division in the German Reich since the annexation of Austria , Denied point games.

During his club membership he won the Gaume Championship twice and as a result also took part twice in the final round of the German Championship . He made his debut on May 2, 1943 in the Vienna Prater Stadium in a 5-2 first-round victory over MSV Brno . His second final round match was the semi-finals held on June 13th, which was lost 2-1 to FV Saarbrücken . In the following season he was used again in two games. On May 7, 1944 in the Prater Stadium in the 5-0 victory over STC Hirschberg and on May 21 in the 2-3 quarter-final defeat against Dresdner SC , the eventual German champions.

In 1943 , he played four games in the competition for the Tschammer Cup . He made his debut on August 22, 1943 in a 14-0 first-round victory over NSTG Brüx . He then played the last sixteen against Breslauer SpVgg 02 , won 6: 5 on September 19, and the quarter-finals won 6: 2 against FC Schalke 04 on October 17 , before his team reached the final. The final held on June 18, 1944 in the Berlin Olympic Stadium in front of 70,000 spectators against the Luftwaffe Sports Club Hamburg was won 3-2 after extra time. Rudolf Noack , his teammate, scored two goals, including the winning goal in the 113th minute.
