The MUKS Praga Warszawa (Międzyszkolny Uczniowski Klub Sportowy Praga Warszawa Kobieca Piłka Nożna) is a Polish women's football club from the capital Warsaw . It was founded in 2001.

history

The club was founded in December 2001 on the initiative of the parents of some girls playing soccer. Praga Warszawa has worked closely with schools and other associations since it was founded. The teams regularly took part in tournaments in different parts of Poland and even abroad.

From the 2002/03 season the club went to the start with a senior team in the Masovian group of the II league, which corresponded to the second highest division in Poland. The club took first place twice in a row. While the club lost their first play-off game against Luboński KS Luboń 1-0 in the 2002/03 season , they were promoted a year later. The club won the first play-off game against Victoria Sianów 1-0 and qualified for the second round. Praga Warszawa met the two other winners of the first round. The club lost to UKS Gol Częstochowa 0: 2 and TKKF Checz Gdynia 0: 1. While the other two clubs were promoted directly, Praga Warsaw had to play third in a play-off against UKS Zamłynie Radom , the eighth of the I league. After a 5-1 home win, Praga Warszawa was enough to lose a 2-4 away defeat to promote promotion.

In the 2004/05 season , however, the club rose again as eighth of ten clubs. Due to the restructuring of the football system, the club came into the new I league, the second highest division, while the highest division was now called Ekstraliga. After three years he was promoted back to the Ekstraliga. After the club took first place in the group north of the I league, they were able to prevail with a 2-1 play-off win against MUKS Tomaszów Mazowiecki . In the 2008/09 season the club was penultimate, but was able to prevail in the play-offs against ZTKKF Stilon Gorzów Wielkopolski with 2-2 and 3-2. In the next season , the club was last with only one point and rose after two 0-2 defeats in the play-offs against 1. FC Katowice . Since then, Praga Warsaw has been back in the I league.
