The SV Viktoria Elbing was a German sports club from in today's Poland situated Elblag .

history

The SV Viktoria Elbing was founded 1910th In the 1919/20 season Elblag was group winners of the district of Elblag and played against the winner of the district of Danzig for the championship of the district class West Prussia. Elbinger lost this game against VfL Danzig 2: 5. In the coming seasons, the district of Elbing was assigned to the district class East Prussia, Viktoria Elbing was group winners in the district of Elbing in 1920/21 and 1922/23 , but could not achieve any top placements in the East Prussian football final. For the 1930/31 season there were again changed district divisions on the part of the Baltic Sports Association . The Grenzmark district was created, and from then on Elbing played in this district in the district league West Prussia. 1932 won Viktoria Elbing the District League West Prussia, which the team qualified for the final round of the Grenzmark championship. In this reached Elbing behind the Danziger SC in second place in Group A, which was not enough to get stuck.

In the 1932/33 season, Elbing reached second place in the West Prussian district class, which entitled Elbing to participate in the newly created Gauliga East Prussia 1933/34 , in which the team, being the bottom of group A, had to be relegated after one season. For the 1935/36 season , the promotion to the Gauliga East Prussia took place , in this Elbing was able to hold until the 1937/38 season , when it came to many relegated due to a reduction in the Gauliga. For the 1939/40 season Viktoria Elbing played together with VfR Hansa Elbing and Elbinger SV in a war syndicate . With the founding of the Gauliga Danzig-West Prussia , Viktoria Elbing played in this league from then on and achieved placements in the midfield. For the Tschammerpokal 1943 the Elbinger qualified as cup winners of the Gaus Gdansk-West Prussia. After a 7-0 defeat against LSV Pütnitz , Elbing was eliminated in the first round.

After the Second World War, Elbing, which was part of the German Empire, was annexed by the Soviet Union and placed under Polish administration . SV Viktoria Elbing was - like all other German clubs and institutions - forcibly dissolved.
