The Gdansk Sports Club was a football club from Gdansk .
history
Danziger SC was founded in 1912. Soon the team took part in the soccer championship held by the Baltic Lawn and Winter Sports Association , where they competed in the West Prussian regional class. The greatest success was participation in the final round of the Baltic Championship in 1925/26 , when the club won the championship of its district class. In the final round, the team finished fifth with two wins in five games, only leaving the West Prussian runner-up VfL Danzig behind them. Thus, participation in the German championship 1925/26 was clearly missed. In 1928 and 1929, the Danziger SC was second in the table in West Prussia, but unlike the Pomerania and East Prussia districts, the runner-up no longer took part in the final round of the Baltic championship.
In 1930, the Danziger SC was relegated from the district class, but rose directly to the top division that had been restructured in the meantime. In the regional championship now held in five seasons for the Grenzmark district - Pomerania had switched to the Association of Brandenburgischer Ballspielvereine , as a result the regional structure in the Baltic area was changed - the climber won the Gdansk regional championship and was the first to win the Grenzmark championship after three wins in four Play in the final round of the Baltic championship 1931/32 . In a closely contested final round with four teams, the club finished last in the table after two wins and one draw, but had a positive goal difference only two plus points less than the Baltic champions SV Hindenburg Allenstein , who had a balanced goal account. As fourth in the following season, the team missed admission to the Gauliga East Prussia .
First the Danziger SC played second class, in 1940 he missed the return to the first class against the Danzig district club SV Neufahrwasser in the promotion game by a 1: 4 defeat. Even after the creation of the Gauliga Danzig-West Prussia , it took until 1943 before the rise succeeded. With five wins from 16 games, the team was level on points with Post-SG Danzig bottom of the table. The 1944/45 season began with two games without a win before the championship was canceled due to the war .
After Germany surrendered, Danzig was placed under Polish administration as part of West Prussia. The Danziger SC was dissolved like all sports clubs.
