The Baltic Football Championship 1922/23 of the Baltic Lawn and Winter Sports Association won the VfB Königsberg unbeaten in the final tournament with two points ahead of the TuFC Preußen Danzig . This was the fifth overall win in the Baltic football championship for the Königsbergers, who thereby qualified for the German football championship 1922/23 . After a bye in the quarter-finals, Königsberg was eliminated in the semifinals after a narrow 2: 3 home defeat against future German soccer champions Hamburger SV . It was only the second time that a club from the Baltic Lawn and Winter Sports Association reached the semi-finals of the German soccer championship.

Mode and overview

The clubs in the Baltic Lawn and Winter Sports Association were again divided into three circles in the 1922/23 season, the district champions qualified for the final round of the Baltic football championship. In East Prussia and Pomerania there were several district classes, the winners of which played the respective district champions in a final round.

District II Tilsit / Memel

After the Memelland was occupied in January 1923, the district was renamed Tilsit District II for the coming season . The MTV Memel was allowed to continue to take part in the association games, it was not forbidden until 1932.

District III Pomerania

The Pomeranian district was divided into seven districts this season, the district winners played the Pomeranian district champion in the Pomeranian football final.

District I Stolp

The Stolps district championship was not played to the end for financial reasons. Last year's champion SV Sturm Lauenburg was registered for the Pomeranian finals.

Final round of the Baltic football championship

The final round of the Baltic football championship was played in the 1922/23 season in a round-robin tournament with a round trip. The three district champions were qualified. The VfB Königsberg won his fifth title of the Baltic lawn and Winter Sports Federation.
