Final round of the Baltic football championship

The final round of the Baltic football championship was held again in the 1911/12 season in the knockout system . The district champions were qualified. Surprisingly, VfB Königsberg was eliminated for the first time in its history against a village club that was already mentioned in the press at the time . Thus for the first time the way was free for a club outside of Königsberg. The SC Lituania Tilsit prevailed in the final against the SV Ostmark Danzig . It was the first and, until the 1932/33 season, the only time that the Baltic football champions did not come from the major cities of Gdansk, Koenigsberg or Stettin.

Endgame

Ostmark Danzig , defeated the Danzig series champion BuEV Danzig in the Danzig district league 2-1 despite a 0-1 break deficit , entered the final with a strong replacement. Two of his best players could not take part in the final game due to work, a third player only appeared 20 minutes after kick-off, so that Danzig had to play outnumbered at the beginning. In the first half, Lituania Tilsit was able to take the lead with two goals. In the second half, Danzig was initially able to catch up, in the 80th minute they equalized to 2-2. Tilsit scored two more goals in the last ten minutes, which decided the final.
