The Baltic football championship of the Baltic Sports Association in 1927/28 was won by VfB Königsberg in the final tournament with four points ahead of SC Prussia Stettin . This was the ninth win of the Baltic football championship for the Königsbergers, who thereby qualified for the German football championship 1927/28 . There, after a 3-2 away win against Breslauer SC 08 , the Königsberg team reached the quarter-finals, which were lost on home ground with 0: 4 against the future German soccer champions Hamburger SV . Nevertheless, reaching the quarter-finals is to be seen as a success, only SV Hindenburg Allenstein from the Baltic Sports Association also reached the second round of the German soccer championship in 1933 . Prussia Stettin was also qualified as the Baltic runner-up for the German soccer championship, but was eliminated in the round of 16 after a 1: 4 home defeat against Holstein Kiel .

Mode and overview

The clubs in the Baltic Lawn and Winter Sports Association were again divided into three districts in the 1927/28 season, the district champions and runner-up champions from East Prussia and Pomerania qualified for the final round of the Baltic football championship. With a resolution of the district council on January 29, 1928, new association statutes were put into effect on March 15, 1928. For the coming season, the districts were renamed districts , in return, the districts were henceforth named Kreise . Furthermore, there were new district divisions below the top leagues.

District III Pomerania

The Pomeranian district was divided into six districts, the winners of which qualified for the finals in Pomerania. Due to the strength of the game in Szczecin compared to the other districts, the second and third placed from Szczecin were also allowed to take part in the Pomeranian finals. From this season onwards, each district played its own league again, and the grouping of several districts into so-called departments was no longer continued.
