The SV Preußen Köslin was a German sports club from the Pomeranian city of Köslin , today Koszalin.

history

The club was founded in 1909 under the name FC Köslin and played under the Baltic Lawn and Winter Sports Association in the Kolberg / Köslin district class in the Pomeranian district, later in the Grenzmark district. In 1913 the name was changed to SV Preußen Köslin . In 1920 the club qualified as the winner of the district class Köslin for the Pomeranian football championship, in which Köslin was eliminated in the semi-finals after a 6-0 defeat by Viktoria Stolp . 1928 succeeded again the win of the district class, but again Köslin lost to Viktoria Stolp and retired early from the Pomeranian football championship. By 1931/32 Prussia Köslin was able to win the district class Köslin four times, but always failed in the first round of the Pomeranian football championship, or from 1930/31 in the Grenzmark football championship.

By taking second place in the Kolberg / Köslin district class in the 1932/33 season, Prussia Köslin qualified for the Pomeranian Gauliga, which was newly introduced in 1933 . In the first Gauliga season 1933/34 Köslin narrowly missed the group victory of the group East and only had to admit defeat Viktoria Stolp . The local rivals Kösliner SV Phönix , who had to relegate this season, were clearly distanced. The successful season could not be repeated in the next year , with only one win and three draws, SV Preußen Köslin had to relegate to the second-rate district league. For the 1940/41 season , together with the Kösliner SV Phönix , rose again , but after this season Prussia Köslin rose again to the second division. For the 1943/44 season , the club was able to rise again to the Gauliga, the season ended in the last place in the group east. A league game operation in the 1944/45 season no longer took place.

After the Second World War, Köslin, which was part of the German Empire, was annexed by the Soviet Union and placed under Polish administration . The SV Preußen Köslin was - like all other German clubs and institutions - forcibly dissolved.
