The Baltic football championship of the Baltic Sports Association in 1926/27 was won by Stettiner FC Titania in the final tournament with one point ahead of VfB Königsberg . This was the second win in the Baltic football championship after 1920 for the Szczecinians, who thereby qualified for the German football championship 1926/27 . There Titania was eliminated in the round of 16 after a clear 9-1 away defeat against Holstein Kiel . The VfB Königsberg was qualified as runners-Baltic also for the German football championship, but also different from already in the second round. Against the eventual finalists Hertha BSC it was a narrow 1: 2 defeat.

Mode and overview

The clubs in the Baltic Lawn and Winter Sports Association were again divided into three circles in the 1926/27 season, the district champions and the runners-up qualified for the final round of the Baltic football championship. A top single-track league was introduced in East Prussia. In Pomerania there were again so-called departments , some of which consisted of several districts.

District I East Prussia

In East Prussia, the East Prussian League was introduced as the top league, the former first-class district leagues were henceforth the second class. With the introduction of the East Prussian League, so-called district cups (but in a round-robin tournament) were played to determine the participants in the 1925/26 season. The three winners of these districts were qualified for the top league with the two best Königsberg clubs. The runners-up in the district cups were allowed to take part in this year's relegation round to determine the climber.

District III Pomerania

Again the game was played in so-called departments. Sometimes two districts formed one department. The division winners and also the runner-up in Szczecin were qualified for the Pomeranian finals. For the coming season, the departments were dissolved and each district played for itself again.

Section 4 District VI / VII Vorpommern-Uckermark / Gollnow

District VI Vorpommer-Uckermark played in two seasons, the season winners competed in a final for the district championship. This winner then met the master of District VII Gollnow to determine the section winner. Due to a deadline, the Pasewalker SC was announced as the winner of District VI.

bThe Pasewalker SC did not start because they had been reported by the district gaming committee due to scheduling difficulties for the championship finals of section 4 and therefore believed that they would automatically be awarded the championship of district VI. Final round of the Baltic football championship

The final round of the Baltic football championship was held in the 1926/27 season in a round-robin tournament. In addition to the champions of the three districts, the runner-up were also qualified. In the end, FC Titania Stettin prevailed with four wins and one draw and became Baltic football champions for the second time. With this victory, Stettin also broke through the winning streak of VfB Königsberg , which had previously won the Baltic championship six times in a row. VfB Königsberg was runner-up and was therefore also allowed to take part in the German soccer championship 1926/27 .
