German championship 1925/26

The twentieth German soccer championship was again a demonstration of the strength of the southern German teams. All three southern representatives were in the semi-finals, only Hertha BSC could break into this phalanx and prevent a possible purely southern German final. The 1. FC Nuremberg won his fifth title and built its position as champions further. The championship was won in 32 games with 57: 7 points and 105: 34 goals with only two defeats (including a bitter 0: 5 at local rivals SpVgg Fürth ).

For the first time, two teams from the West appeared that were to be among the greats in the 1930s: FC Schalke 04 and Fortuna Düsseldorf . This time it was only enough for the 1st round. Again, all three West German representatives failed in the round of 16.

Three more German soccer champions were determined this year. It was the Dresdner SV 1910 , which won its fourth ATSB title in a row, the TV 1861 Forst with the German Gymnastics Association and DJK Sparta Nürnberg with the Deutsche Jugendkraft .
