Heinrich "Heiner" Träger (born January 3, 1893 in Nuremberg ; † October 13, 1976 there ) was a German football player . Career

Träg began at FC Nuremberg arrow to the football games . He finally got to 1. FC Nürnberg through FC Viktoria in 1911 . There he initially played left winger , but later switched to the half-left position to clear the outside position for Hans Sutor . After the end of his career, however, he returned to the outside position. Between 1911 and 1927 he played 455 games for the first soccer team of 1. FC Nürnberg. From 1921 to 1926 he was appointed to the senior national team 6 times (1 goal) .

Despite his beefy stature, the rather small porter was extremely agile and particularly powerful, which is why he was very assertive in duels. Although slow overall, he also had a quick start, which is why he lurked especially on steep passes. His greatest strength was the force of his left foot shot, combined with an accurate precision of his shots that a Berlin journalist with the words "has Träg visual organs on their feet." Described. In his 18 appearances in the final round of the German soccer championship , he scored 16 goals. In 1919 he scored seven goals in a league game against Jena, with which he made a 9-2 win for the club almost single-handedly from a 2-0 half-time deficit.

One of the winger's major weaknesses was the header game. In the memory of the long-time FCN goalkeeper Heinrich Stuhlfauth , he only "accidentally" scored a header in the championship final of 1921 against Vorwärts 90 Berlin : "The ball fell on his head and jumped into the goal from there."

An even greater weakness, however, was his unbridled temper. Again and again he let himself be carried away into verbal arguments with the referees and the spectators . In the endless championship final against Hamburger SV in 1922, referee Peco Bauwens sent him off the pitch for assault in the 100th minute. In 1925, Bauwens even resigned from his post during a game against MTK Budapest because of ongoing arguments with Träger. His last game as an active player also showed all the positive and bad sides of Heiner Träger. In the final of the championship in 1927, he brought 1. FCN 2-0 against Hertha BSC in the 60th minute . However, he repeatedly got involved in arguments with the spectators of the finals held in Berlin and explained them after his goal: “Edds know weiderschimbfn, gwunner ham mir! (Now you can go on ranting, we won !). ” Ten minutes before the final whistle, he was finally sent off for insulting the referee.
