The DJK Sparta Nürnberg (officially: Deutsche Jugendkraft Sparta Nürnberg eV ) was a sports club from Nürnberg . The footballers were twice German champions of the German youth force .
history
The club was founded in 1918 as FC Sparta Nürnberg . A few years later, the club joined the DJK sports association founded in 1920 and changed the club name accordingly. After the National Socialists came to power , the DJK Sports Association was banned and dissolved in 1935. The club DJK Sparta Nürnberg was re-established after the end of the Second World War and merged with DJK Noris Nürnberg to become DJK Sparta Noris Nürnberg in 1954 .
The DJK Sparta footballers became Bavarian district champions in 1924 and took part in the German DJK championship. Nothing is known about the team's performance. At the next German championship in 1927, the Nuremberg team reached the final via the stations DJK Schwäbisch Gmünd (4: 1) and DJK Pirmasens (5: 1). In front of 40,000 spectators in Cologne , the Spartans prevailed 6: 1 against TuS 08 Homberg-Hochheide and thus secured the championship. At the last DJK championship in 1932, the Nuremberg team reached the final. In front of 35,000 spectators at the Rote Erde stadium in Dortmund , Sparta won 5-2 against DJK Adler Frintrop from Essen .
