German championship 1912/13

The twelfth and last German football championship before the First World War was held from May 3 to May 31, 1914. SpVgg Fürth secured the championship in the final in Berlin with a 3-2 draw against VfB Leipzig .

For Leipzig it was the sixth final participation since 1903 and the respective representative of the southern German association reached the final for the eighth time. With the outbreak of war in August 1914, gaming operations at the national level were interrupted. No German championship was to be held until 1920.

Attendees

Eight clubs, the seven champions of the regional associations and the defending champions were qualified for the final round. While the teams from Leipzig , Berlin , Karlsruhe or Kiel have dominated the finals so far, the Nuremberg / Fürth region has now entered the limelight for the first time.
