Hermann Polenski

Hermann Polenski (* unknown; † March 5, 1954 ) was a German football player and coach.

Player career

Polenski belonged from 1910 bis 1920 the SpVgg Fürth on, for which he in the South German association football clubs discharged championship first in the season 1913/14 in Südkreis disputed point games. As a goalkeeper he only played five point games, but won two regional championships and the German championship at the end of the season. As a South German champion in 1914, he played in the final round of the German championship on May 3, 1914 at SpVgg 1899 Leipzig, winning the quarter-finals 2-1 .

On May 31, 1914, he and his team faced none other than the defending champion from Leipzig in the final . Around 6000 spectators had gathered around the Viktoria sports field in Magdeburg to attend the event. Karl Franz scored the 1-0 lead after 17 minutes, which could only be equalized by Eduard Pendorf in the 83rd minute. In extra time, Frigyes Weicz took the lead again in the 103rd minute, which only lasted four minutes, as Curt Hesse scored to equalize. Once again it was reserved for Franz to score the winning goal to 3-2 in the 153rd minute on Weicz's presentation; seven minutes later referee Kurt von Paquet whistled off the game - SpVgg Fürth were German champions.

From 1917 to 1920 he was used again in the championships held by the South German Football Association (with the name change in 1914) , initially for two seasons in the Middle Franconia district , then, in his last season, in the Northern Bavarian regional league . He finished this with his team in second place behind the undefeated North Bavarian champions 1. FC Nürnberg .

At the end of his football career he still played the 1920/21 season for league and city rivals MTV Fürth , who finished seventh.

Coaching career

One year after the end of his career, he was a coach in the soccer department of the Turnerbund Jahn Regensburg ; as fifth place in the 1922/23 season , the team rose from the district league of southern Bavaria. His last team he coached was 1. FC Zirndorf from the city of the same name in the Middle Franconian district of Fürth in the 1929/30 season.
