Adalbert Friedrich or Adelbert Friedrich (born June 10, 1884 in Leipzig , † July 4, 1962 ) was a German football player .

Adalbert Friedrich joined VfB Leipzig at the age of 13 , for which he was to be active throughout his career. In 1900 he made his debut in the first team at the age of 16 and in 1903 he won the first German soccer championship with VfB and together with his brother Walter . In the years that followed, Friedrich was part of all of the Leipzig's successes. Until the beginning of the First World War , he was the only player in his club not to miss a final game for the German championship, even though he was often on the road in northern and western Germany. The left winger also took part in the championships in 1906 and 1913 and was also on the field in two final defeats. In total, he played 19 finals and scored at least four goals.

Selection / national team

In the Crown Prince's Cup , Friedrich played four times for Central Germany before he was ousted by Arthur Gäbelein from Hallesches FC Hohenzollern. Friedrich was part of the winning team at the first edition of the cup in 1909 .

On May 16, 1910, Friedrich completed his only game for the senior national team . In the 3-0 defeat against the Belgian national team , he played as left winger in the storm row on the side of Gablonsky , Schilling , Bauwens (55th Breynk ) and Reislant .

With the outbreak of the First World War, his footballing career ended at the age of 30.
