The SC Wacker Schidlitz (according to DSFS ), or SC Wacker Danzig (according to Hardy Green ) was a German sports club from the Danzig district of Schidlitz . The football department played for two years in the first-class Gauliga Danzig-West Prussia .

history

The association was founded in 1921. A game operation in the Baltic Lawn and Winter Sports Association has been handed down since the 1923/24 season, when Wacker Schidlitz achieved promotion to the next higher league as first in the third class 2nd class Danzig . The club was also first in the A-Class Danzig 1924/25 , so that it was promoted to the first-class district league Danzig in the 1925/26 season . The clubs in the top Gdańsk football league were too strong for Schidlitz, the club went straight back to the A-class without a win. A return to the top football league succeeded in the 1927/28 season , but also in this season, the club rose from bottom of the table immediately back to the second division. In the years to come Schidlitz remained in the second-class A-Class and mostly achieved midfield placements.

After the DC circuit of the Nazis in 1933, all previous football associations were dissolved. The game operation was now organized in 16 football districts, Schidlitz was assigned to the Sportgau East Prussia . As a result of the restructuring, the club was assigned to the third-class, 1st class, District IV Danzig-Marienwerder, District I, Danzig , and after the 1934/35 season even went down to the fourth-class, 2nd class. In the season 1936/37 Schidlitz won the 2nd class and rose again to the third class. By restructuring the league system, the club succeeded in the 1938/39 season promotion to the second-rate district class Danzig . A game operation in the 1939/40 season, which was marked by the beginning of the Second World War , is not recorded.

After the establishment of the Danzig-West Prussia sports district in 1940, there was a transition round to classify the clubs in the league system. In this Schidlitz reached the sixth place in the table and was classified in the second class 1st class Gdansk 1940/41 . In this the club reached the second place in the table behind the Post-SG Danzig , which meant promotion to the first-class Gauliga Danzig-West Prussia in 1941/42 . In this, Wacker reached sixth place in the table among ten participating clubs. In the 1942/43 season, Wacker Schidlitz withdrew from the Gauliga in April 1943, presumably due to the war, and the games played so far (2 wins, 2 draws, 14 defeats) were canceled. The 1943/44 season was played in the second-class 1st class in Danzig . In the 1944/45 season, the club still took part in 1st class in Danzig, but the season was canceled after a few match days due to the war.

After the Second World War , Danzig, which was part of the German Empire, was annexed by the Soviet Union and placed under Polish administration . The SC Wacker Schidlitz was - like all other German clubs and institutions - forcibly dissolved.
