Raimar Orlovsky

Raimar Orlovsky (born July 12, 1966 in Bremen ) is a German violinist . He plays a violin by Carlo Giuseppe Testore from 1706 and a baroque violin by Jacobus Stainer from 1669.

Life

Orlovsky received his training from Herbert Koloski , Werner Heutling , Thomas Brandis and Walter Forchert . Since 1991 he has been a violinist with the Berliner Philharmoniker . In 1995 he became a founding member of the Berlin Baroque Soloists and in 2010 of the Brahms Ensemble Berlin . In 1998 he founded the early music ensemble "Concerto Melante", the only ensemble of the Berlin Philharmonic that plays exclusively on historical instruments.

His musical and musicological interests lie in historical performance practice and the work of Georg Philipp Telemann .
