Eva Kühne-Hörmann (* March 14, 1962 in Kassel as Eva Kühne) is a German politician ( CDU ), was a member of the Hessian state parliament from 1995 to 2019 and has been the Hessian state minister of justice since January 18, 2014 . Before that, she was Hessian Minister for Science and Art from February 5, 2009 .

education and profession

After graduating from the Friedrichsgymnasium Kassel in 1981, Eva Kühne-Hörmann studied law at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg and the Georg-August University of Göttingen from 1981 to 1988 , which she completed in 1988 with the first state examination in law. She started her legal clerkship in Kassel in 1989 and completed her second state examination in 1991.

From 1991 to 1992 she worked as a lecturer at a private educational institution in Stendal , and since 1992 worked as a construction lawyer in the Thuringian state administration office , from 1992 to 1993 as cabinet and parliamentary advisor in the Thuringian Ministry of Justice and from 1993 to 1995 as an office manager for the mayor of Kassel.

Mrs. Kühne-Hörmann is Protestant, married and has two children. Her son Jan Hörmann was state chairman of the CDU-affiliated student union Hessen from 2013 to 2014 .

Kühne-Hörmann has been a member of the CDU since 1986, where she is the district chairman of the CDU Kassel and a member of the state board of the CDU Hessen . Furthermore, she has been chairwoman of the women's union Kassel-Stadt since 1994 and was deputy chairwoman of the state working group of Christian Democratic Jurists (LACDJ) from 1998 to 2000.

In local politics she has been active as a city councilor in Kassel since 1997, where she headed the CDU parliamentary group from December 2005 to February 2009.

Eva Kühne-Hörmann has been a member of the Hessian state parliament since April 5, 1995, and has been deputy chairwoman of the CDU parliamentary group there since April 5, 2003.
