The first meeting of the new cabinet

The Bouffier II cabinet formed the state government of Hesse from January 18, 2014 to January 18, 2019 . The basis for the formation of the cabinet is the coalition agreement between the CDU and Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen entitled Shaping Reliably - Opening Up Perspectives . This contract was approved on December 21, 2013 by a unanimous vote of the CDU state committee and 74.21 percent of the participants at a party congress of the Greens. This was preceded by the state elections in Hesse 2013 on September 22, 2013.

Prime Minister Volker Bouffier was re-elected with 62 votes in the constituent session of the state parliament on January 18, 2014 and thus received one more vote than the CDU and the Greens had in the state parliament .

The Greens announced the names of their ministers shortly after the treaty was negotiated.
