On April 20, 2012, Economics Minister Posch announced his resignation on June 1, 2012. His successor was the previous FDP parliamentary group leader in the Hessian state parliament, Florian Rentsch . Just one day later, Minister of Culture Henzler also announced her resignation by July 1, 2012 at the latest. She bowed to her party's wish to initiate a generation change before the state elections at the end of 2013. For the successor, the European State Secretary in the Hessian Justice and European Ministry Nicola Beer , FDP, came into discussion. On May 31, 2012, Henzler also received her certificate of discharge and, as expected, her successor was Nicola Beer.
