Petra Müller-Klepper (born March 6, 1957 in Hallgarten (Rheingau) ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From 2005 to 2009 she was a member of the Hessian state parliament and from February 5, 2009 to December 6, 2013, State Secretary in the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs . Since January 18, 2014 she is again a member of the Hessian state parliament.

education and profession

After graduating from high school in 1975, Müller-Klepper studied journalism, political science and history at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz and graduated in 1981 with a master's degree.

From 1981 to 1984 she was the responsible editor of the Rheingau Echo weekly newspaper , from 1984 to 1988 she worked in the advertising department of DG Verlag Wiesbaden and from 1988 to 1993 press officer and parliamentary group assistant of the CDU Rheingau-Taunus. After parental leave from 1993 to 1995, she worked from 1995 to 1999 as a public relations officer for the CDU parliamentary group in the Hessian state parliament and from 1999 to November 21, 2005, press spokesperson for the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs.

Müller-Klepper is Catholic, married and has one child.

politics

Müller-Klepper has been a member of the CDU since 1976 and there from 1979 to 1985 and since 2003 a member of the board of the CDU Oestrich-Winkel . Müller-Klepper is heavily involved in the women's union and has been FU state chairman since November 18, 2006.

From 1977 to 1990 and since 2001 she has been city councilor in Oestrich-Winkel, deputy parliamentary group chairwoman, from 1997 to 2001 and from 2004 to 2006 a member of the district council in Rheingau-Taunus.

Müller-Klepper became a member of the Hessian state parliament on November 22, 2005 as the successor to Franz Josef Jung , who moved to the federal cabinet as defense minister. Müller-Klepper was a member of the Committee for the Environment, Rural Areas and Consumer Protection, the Petitions Committee, the Social Policy Committee and the Hardship Commission at the Hessian Minister of the Interior and for Sport.

After the state elections in Hesse in 2009 , in which she won the direct mandate in the Rheingau-Taunus I constituency with 42.4% of the votes, she was appointed State Secretary to the Hessian Ministry of Labor, Family and Health on February 5, 2009. Due to the incompatibility of office and mandate, she had to resign from her state parliament mandate. For them, Hans-Peter Seyffardt moved up in the state parliament.

In the state elections in Hesse in 2013 , she again won the direct mandate in the Rheingau-Taunus I constituency . Due to the incompatibility of office and mandate, her office as State Secretary ended six weeks before the end of the electoral term.
