The constituency Rheingau-Taunus I (constituency 28) is one of the two state electoral districts in the Rheingau-Taunus district of Hesse . The constituency includes the towns and municipalities of Bad Schwalbach , Eltville , Geisenheim , Heidenrod , Kiedrich , Lorch , Oestrich-Winkel , Rüdesheim am Rhein , Schlangenbad and Walluf and is considered a CDU stronghold. The municipality of Heidenrod was added to the constituency by law of December 18, 2017 (GVBl. P. 478), it was previously part of the Rheingau-Taunus II constituency .

Geographically, the westernmost constituency covers the Hesse as Rheingau from the southwest of the famous Rheingau-Taunus district and Bad Schwalbach, Heidenrod and Schlangenbad from the Untertaunus .

The constituency until 1966

Between 1950 and 1966 there was constituency 24, which included the Rheingau district and the Untertaunus district , according to the Hessian state election law of September 18, 1950 .
